Supplier Partner Spotlight: A New Way for Funeral Homes to Continue Caring for Families

The service may end, but a family’s grief doesn’t.

For funeral homes, continuing care can be an important way to stay connected with families in the months following a death. Finding the staff time to manage a consistent aftercare program, however, can be another challenge entirely.

AFCCA Supplier Partner Hope Through Healing has introduced a new Continuing Care Program designed to help funeral homes provide that ongoing connection without adding the mailing schedule to their team’s workload.

Participating funeral homes enroll families in the program, then Hope Through Healing manages a series of grief-support mailings sent at 1, 3, 6, 9, 11 and 13 months following the service, along with a holiday mailing.

Funeral homes may also choose to have a sympathy card sent before the series begins, directly from the funeral home.

The goal is simple: give funeral homes another option for maintaining thoughtful contact with families throughout the first year following a loss while allowing staff to remain focused on serving the families currently in their care.
