Another popular event at the AFCCA annual convention is the Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament, benefitting the AFCCA Foundation for Children.
The crowd was large this year, with over 120 poker players. Some were dead serious about winning that $1000 Cash Prize, donated by Past President Kurtis Lauffer. Some were there just for the good time. Either way, we were glad everyone came and supported school aged children in Arizona.
Through donations, tournament entry fees and prize donations, were able to raise $4500 to help school kids in the 2013/2014 school year!
We had 8 Final Prizes for the evening:

- 32″ Magnavox Television – Donated by Michael Fogle, Batesville Casket
- Paid Entry into The Super Bounty Big Stack Poker Tournament – Donated by Talking Stick Resort
- Two Night Stay in a Standard Suite at Pointe Hitlon Tapatio Cliffs – Donated by the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs
- Gift Card for a detailing at Cobblestone Auto Spa – Donated by Robert Minson at Cobblestone Auto Spa
- Ling & Louie’s Gift Card – Donated by John Banquil with Ling & Louie’s Restaurant

The tournament went late into the night, but by 12:30 AM, we had our top two winners. First Place was Rich Darnell, who went home $1000 richer. Second Place was Alan Powell, who took home a new flat screen television.
