Participate in a Study on Work-Life Balance in High-Stress Occupations

AFCCA is sharing the following research opportunity on behalf of a doctoral student at Edgewood University. This study focuses on understanding work-life balance in high-stress professions, including funeral service.

You are invited to participate in an anonymous survey titled:
“Work-Life Balance in High-Stress Occupations: A Comparative Study of Funeral Service, Paramedic, and Firefighting Sectors.”

This study has been approved by Edgewood University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) and explores how workplace conditions, personal coping strategies and organizational supports affect work-life balance in your profession.

Who Should Participate:
We kindly request that each participating organization distribute this survey to all eligible staff members.

Eligible participants include:

  • Funeral sector: Funeral directors, embalmers and apprentices, whether full-time or part-time

  • Paramedic sector: Ambulance attendants, paramedics and emergency medical technicians, both full-time and part-time

  • Firefighting sector: Paid and volunteer firefighters, including full-time and part-time roles

Key details:

  • The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete

  • Participation is voluntary

  • You must be 18 or older and currently working in one of the professions listed above
