True to form, the 2013 AFCCA Annual Convention kicked off bright and early on June 5th with a golf tournament. We had 54 players this year, sun screened and raring to go.
Starting off with a healthy continental breakfast and pastries (okay, somewhat healthy), our golfers were teamed up with new friends and colleagues. Some with old friends and colleagues, and I’m not just talking about age.
At 7:05 (only five minutes late for our shot gun start, a new record) our teams head out into the Tapatio cliffs. Word is, this course is no joke. But a lot of fun to drive around in a golf cart on all those hills and turns.
About 4.5 hours later, sun worn and weary, we feasted on a lunch of hamburgers and grilled chicken. Winners of the hole challenges, lowest score and highest score (Handley’s are the running champions on that) were announced and given prizes. Raffle tickets were drawn and prizes were delivered. It was a great time had by all.
