During the ADHS presentation at the 2018 AFCCA Annual Conference, some suggestions for improvement were shared such as:
Physicians are creating duplicate records in DAVE. Can the BVR consider removing their ability to create death records in DAVE?
- BVR Response: This suggestion will be researched further and discussed internally.
Medical certifiers are forgetting to enter the medical certification date in the field in DAVE.
- BVR Response: The updates to the medical certification process that will be deployed in the next system upgrade, should resolve this issue.
Physicians are not using the spell check.
- BVR Response: The BVR is currently exploring the option of automating spell check for the cause of death entries. We will continue to train the medical certifiers to click the spell check button prior to attesting/signing the medical certification.
Social security number – Can this field be added as a searchable field in DAVE?
- BVR Response: This suggestion will be researched further and discussed internally.
When all research is completed, the BVR will follow up on these items during our normal cycle of outreach with the funeral homes and other stakeholders.
